Sinterklaas in de KMS in de jaren 1970… In die periode organiseert de polytechnische promotie van het vijfde studiejaar traditioneel een Sinterklaasfeest in de bar van de Applicatieschool in blok M. Leden van het professorenkorps en van het kader, evenals sommige promotiekameraden die niet braaf geweest zijn, ontvangen van de Sint in vol ornaat, bijgestaan door een roetpiet, een ludiek, zorgvuldig uitgekozen geschenk.
De foto toont een beeld van het Sinterklaasfeest georganiseerd door de 127ste Polytechnische Promotie op vrijdag 10 december 1976. Professor Paul-Louis Baetslé, naast professor Astronomie, Geodesie en Topografie ook een virtuoos pianist, krijgt een miniatuurpianootje, waarop hij prompt en onder daverend applaus de Pampou speelt, het lijflied van de leerlingen van de Militaire School.
