From 11 to 14 July 1937, a delegation of the RMA, composed of five students of the 96th Promotion Artillery and Engineering (96 AG) and three of the 81st Promotion Infantry and Cavalry (81 IC), then all in their second year of study, and led by Captain Alfred Dorsimont, repetiteur electricity, electrical engineering and physics, went to Paris to attend the inauguration of the new buildings of the École Polytechnique and the parade of 14 July.
Captain Dorsimont, in the middle, will become professor and head of the department.
On the far left of the photo is Albert Loosen (81 IC). On 29 January 1938, he receives the first 'King's Sword' from King Leopold III, in the presence of Lieutenant-General Albert Nyssens, commander of the KMS, and Commander John Gade, former attaché of the United States Navy in Brussels and donor of the Degen. On 14 May 1940 lieutenant Loosen, commander of the platoon scouts of the 9th Linieregiment, was killed in a German ambush near Eeklo. His grave is in the Evere cemetery. The 113th Promotion All Weapons (1973-1977) bears his name.
Helmet exchange at the RMA
On 1 February 1956, the students of the RMA exchanged their British Brodie helmet for an American one. In the post-war period, the Belgian Army was completely modelled on the British, including the clothing and armament.La 73e Rouge
