After last year's highly successful edition, this year's Gala Ball was also a well-attended hit. During the aperitif, the guests had ample opportunity to catch up with a drink and a nibble. Next, our visitors dived into the deep, to our sports hall on level -4, which had been transformed into a ballroom for the occasion.
Following a delicious dinner, as per annual custom, the foreign delegations, from 17 different countries this time, were officially introduced. Then it was high time for one of the stars of the evening: the Quadrille der Lancers. A traditional waltz, performed by RMA students and some civilians who had been coached by a professional choreographer throughout the academic year. Afterwards, those present sang the 'Pampou' song from the heart, which underwent a slight textual change this year. Now that the vocal cords were properly warmed up, the Royal Navy Band was given the command. They immediately lit the fuse and lured everyone to the dance floor in no time.
The mess and cafeteria in turn provided the setting for the disco and lounge bar. Something for everyone in other words, either to the jazzy tones of Generation Alpha or to the rhythm of the RMA MusicBand with its Fanfare, DJ Team and PopBand.
Once again, we would like to sincerely thank all those present, and especially our sponsors. Without you, our splendid Gala Ball would not have been possible. A big thank you and hopefully we will see you next year!
