More than 5,000 curious visitors attended the Open Campus Day at the Royal Military Academy (RMA) on Sunday 10 March. This annual event offers an exclusive insight into life and learning at Belgium's only military university, where the future leaders of Defence are formed. With a wide range of activities and demonstrations, the day promised to be both informative and exciting for all those present.
For example, our students guided visitors through the university during an interactive tour. A unique opportunity to see the state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, training rooms and laboratories. Everyone could ask questions and talk to the staff and students of the RMA to their heart's content.
In addition, several demonstrations highlighted the various aspects of military training. From impressive sports to weapons demonstrations, visitors got a real taste of the skills and discipline required for a career in Defence. Besides the academic, sports and military aspects, the various career opportunities within Defence were also discussed. Representatives of various components, units and services were happy to provide information on the various career paths and specialisations after studies at the RMA. So there was something for everyone.
Finally, there was also room for the deep-rooted traditions and culture of the RMA. The visit to the Museum and the Chapel in the historical staff block provided a beautiful setting ... and perfectly complemented by the RMA MusicBand, an eclectic music ensemble composed of students.
An extremely successful open day, for which we would like to once again thank the numerous staff members and, of course, all the people who were present!
